About

Pets for Vets Chicagoland is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization run 100% by volunteers.  We pair veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), depression, and/or anxiety with shelter dogs for therapeutic purposes. Our organization works closely with each of our veterans, selecting and training the pet that best matches his or her needs, personality and specifications. This service is provided at no cost to the veteran, and placement is accompanied by pet food, bedding, and everything else a new pet owner might need.

The Chicagoland chapter covers several counties including Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will as well as Northwest Indiana.

If you or someone you know is a veteran that could benefit from our program, please visit www.chicagoland-il.petsforvets.com and go to the “Apply for a Pet” section of our website to apply.

If you would like to donate, you may do so either on the website or our Facebook page by clicking here.
